Brad Pitt checks Gwyneth Paltrow's fluid levels.

Gwyneth Paltrow has a blogsite… Goop.com.  I’m not really sure what the purpose is other than to show the world how much better she is than the rest of us. What a self-indulgent piece of shit. Some excerpts for your enjoyment:

In the last GET newsletter I talked about the importance of what I call my uniform—the basic idea of what I am going to wear every season so I can eliminate daily guess work. Personally, I like to stick to the classics in both my everyday life and in the evening. Whether I am going to meet friends for dinner, a cocktail party or a bigger event, the most classic of classics, the little black dress, never fails me. I have found a few great ones in all different price ranges and each has amazing versatility. It could be Zara, it could be Balenciaga, but a well-cut, well-proportioned black dress has gotten me through many a fashion crisis.

Ro comment: She calls this “important”. I can think of more important things besides Gwynneth’s dress. Volcano monitoring, for example.

I think we all begin the new year with thoughts of things we would like to improve, learn, be more disciplined about, cut out of our diets. In January 2007 I decided I’d had enough of my saddlebags and post-pregnancy Shar-Pei-like stomach. I met an incredible woman who changed my life. Her name is Tracy Anderson. She is a dancer, a trainer, an “organic plastic surgeon” as my friend Julia calls her. Her program works but you have to work it. For real. Right now she is on tour with Madonna so I do a lot of video chat with her and I do her DVDs. Every once in a while she sends me a little movie to change something up. She sent me this one for the New Year’s butt. It’s really hard. But do it like she says to do it and I swear that in ten days you will see your butt change shape. I do it with 1 lb. ankle weights and then I do her Dance Aerobics DVD. Some days I hate it, some days I love it, but above all, I stick with it. The sticktoitivness is what it is all about.

Ro comment: lol “sticktoitivness”. STFU, Gwyneth.

As a mother of two young children with lives as busy as my own, I am constantly trying to do more than I can achieve. Sometimes with all of the multitasking, school runs, thank you notes and household responsibilities, not to mention my professional life, I feel like I am doing so many things, none of them as well as I could. My main priority, far and above anything else in my life, is my children, their happiness, stability, individualism and well-being. In your opinion, what are the most effective ways to be with one’s children? What is most important in terms of their emotional and mental development? Are there specific things we can do to help them grow up to reach their full potential?

Ro comment: Didn’t she name one of her kids “Apple”? How is that gonna help with this child’s mental development to have a retarded name?

Bobby Jindal Lied About Katrina

Posted in Comedy, News, Politics on February 27, 2009 by Otto

Remember that story Bobby Jindal told in his big speech Tuesday night — about how during Katrina, he stood shoulder-to-shoulder with a local sheriff who was battling government red tape to try to rescue stranded victims?

Turns out it wasn’t actually, you know, true.

Jindal had described being in the office of Sheriff Harry Lee “during Katrina,” and hearing him yelling into the phone at a government bureaucrat who was refusing to let him send volunteer boats out to rescue stranded storm victims, because they didn’t have the necessary permits. Jindal said he told Lee, “that’s ridiculous,” prompting Lee to tell the bureaucrat that the rescue effort would go ahead and he or she could arrest both Lee and Jindal.

But now, a Jindal spokeswoman has admitted to Politico that in reality, Jindal overheard Lee talking about the episode to someone else by phone “days later.” The spokeswoman said she thought Lee, who died in 2007, was being interviewed about the incident at the time.

This is no minor difference. Jindal’s presence in Lee’s office during the crisis itself was a key element of the story’s intended appeal, putting him at the center of the action during the maelstrom. Just as important, Jindal implied that his support for the sheriff helped ensure the rescue went ahead. But it turns out Jindal wasn’t there at the key moment, and played no role in making the rescue happen.

There’s a larger point here, though. The central anecdote of the GOP’s prime-time response to President Obama’s speech, intended to illustrate the threat of excessive government regulation, turns out to have been made up.

FROM: TPM

You hear that sound Bobby? That is your entire fucking political career going down the toilet. Couldn’t have happened to a better person! To even invoke Katrina was retarded. To lie about it, unforgivable. I can’t wait to see you on 60 Minutes on Tuesday, if you don’t cancel.

Jindal VS the Volcano.

Posted in Comedy, News on February 26, 2009 by Otto

Bobby Jindal is awesome! He is Governor of a state who faced a huge natural disaster. Hurricane Katrina rocked his state to the core, sending its largest city underwater, and sending it’s residents floating to their death.

You would think that would make the leader of that state want to invest in trying to detect and possibly prevent further natural disasters. Not Bobby Jindal, oh no! He, like another strong willed bad ass southerner says “Bring em on!” Bobby Jindal is ready to start challenging other natural disasters. Bobby Jindal is like Chuck Norris only less of a pussy.

I mean come on, what is so dangerous about about Volcanoes? Whats the last thing they ever killed? Dinosaurs right? I’m quite sure they never killed any Americans. Wait, let me check that.

Mount St. Helens on May 18, 1980, which killed 57 people (including a geologist monitoring the mountain) and was the deadliest and costliest volcanic eruption in U.S. history ($2.74 billion in 2007 dollars)

Give me a break, 57 people? 1,833 people died in Hurricane Katrina! Bobby Jindal laughs at only 57 deaths. Oh and the 2.74 billion dollars in damage! That is nothing. I bet President Obama’s stimulus plan wants 5 times as much as that to monitor Volcanoes. Wait, I better fact check that as well.

The $140 million to which Jindal referred is actually for a number of projects conducted by the United States Geological Survey, including volcano monitoring. This monitoring is aimed at helping geologists understand the inner workings of volcanoes as well as providing warnings of impending eruptions, in the United States and in active areas around the world where U.S. military bases are located.

Wait, all he wants is $140 million. Not only that, not all of it goes to monitor Volcanoes in the US, and near our foreign military bases. That is not too bad. Hold on. Bobby Jindal is a bad ass. He isn’t going to spend a penny to appease these magma terrorists. First of all, if a volcano were to erupt near one of our military bases, he trusts the might of our US Army to fight off the molten magma, and possible tidal wave. Bobby Jindal has confidence in our troops to handle themselves while being rained down upon by ash as hot as the core of the earth. Now as far as volcanoes in the US, give me a break. Have you ever seen a volcano in your neighborhood? Bobby Jindal hasn’t. Besides if there are volcanoes in the US, they are probably little puny ones that if they do actually erupt will just give us some cool red lava rock we can decorate our aquariums with. It’s not like there are any large active volcanoes that could actually do us any harm. Again, I will double check, because I don’t want to steer you wrong.

About 50 volcanic eruptions occur around the world every year, according to the USGS. The United States ranks third, behind Indonesia and Japan, in its number of historically active volcanoes

About 65 volcanoes in the United States are considered active; most of these are in Alaska, where an eruption occurs almost every year. Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano is one of the most active volcanoes on Earth and has been erupting continuously since 1983.

Ok, now I am a little scared. But I am not Bobby Jindal. Like the facts state, most of the 65 volcanoes occur in Alaska and Hawaii. Bobby Jindal could give a fuck about Alaska. That is where that attention stealing whore Sarah Palin is from. Bobby Jindal hopes Alaska is wiped out by a volcano, so the 2012 Presidential debates he will be in will only have one down home straight talking brilliant mind for people to watch and be amazed by. Oh and the huge one in Hawaii, isn’t that the state that harbored the known terrorist Obama. Bobby Jindal agrees with Bush and makes no distinction between the terrorists and the states that harbor them. Let me quickly change the subject again. Supposedly this whole stimulus package was supposed to create jobs. Lets go to John Eichelberger, program coordinator for the USGS’s Volcano Hazards Program.

“Much of the expense of this technology comes from the manpower required to make and install it”, “Ultimately most of this creates jobs or saves jobs that would have been lost” to recent budget shortfalls”

So you are telling me that Bobby Jindal is wrong. That this volcano research Bobby Jindal hates so much is not only necessary, it protects our millitary, our citizens, and it creates jobs?

Bobby Jindal isn’t awesome.

Bobby Jindal is an asshole.

Dumbest Anti-Abortion Add Ever!

Posted in Deaths, Politics with tags , , , , , on February 24, 2009 by Otto

This add brought to you by the fine people at http://www.catholicvote.com/ is so dumb it makes me want to get an abortion just to piss off the person who filmed it, and I am a man.

In the add, they show a sonogram of a fetus.

They state:

This Child’s Future is a Broken Home.
he will be abandoned by his father,
his single mother will struggle to raise him.

Despite the struggles he will endure,
this child…..will become….
The 1st African American President.

They then Cut to a picture of Obama and say:

Life: Imagine the potential.

Now I have lived in areas of poverty, in fact after some research I have found that 13 million children are living in poverty.

Most of these children will receive poor educations, and go on to live below average lives at the best. Some will make it, some will become leaders, and champions of industry. However Obama’s presidency is not an indication that every unborn child’s life is precious. It is just a distraction, an appeal to the stupid, and a misuse of our Presidents image, to support a policy he does not support.

Sarah Palin thinks Media is Branch of Government

Posted in Comedy, Interviews, News with tags , on February 23, 2009 by Otto
I am so, so, so dumb.

I am so, so, so dumb.

Gov. Sarah Palin (R-Alaska) believes that the media deliberately tried to bring her down during her vice presidential run.

As part of an interview with conservative filmmaker John Ziegler for his new film out this week, Palin said she believes the media made a decision that “we’re going to seek and we’re going to destroy this candidacy of Sarah Palin’s because of what it is that she represents.”

“Obviously something big took place in the media,” she added. It is “very frightening, I think, what the media was able to get away with, this go around.”

Palin suggested that unbalanced media coverage posed a threat to democracy.

“This is for the sake of our democracy that there is fairness in this other branch of government, if you will, called the media,” she said. “It is foreign to me the way some in the mainstream media are thinking.”

“There have been lies told, there have been reputations trashed, there have been children that have been harmed,” she continued.

Looking back on her interview with ABC News’ Charles Gibson, in which Palin seemed unsure of how to define the Bush doctrine, the Alaska governor said she was disrespected in a way that another candidate would not have been.

“I’d have to say there would be much more respect shown to the subject, yes,” she said.

Wow, I wish I could say something witty or fitting here, but instead I’ll just thank God that she does not have access to “newcleyur” codes.

Obama Names New Commerce Secretary

Your math styles can not defeat mine!

Your math styles can not defeat mine!

WASHINGTON (AFP) — President Barack Obama will “likely” name Gary Locke, the first Chinese-American governor in US history as his pick for commerce secretary, a senior administration official said Monday.

Locke, former governor of Washington state, would be Obama’s third selection for the post following the withdrawals of the two previous candidates, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson and Republican Senator Judd Gregg.

A Democrat, Locke served two terms as the governor between 1997 and 2005, and carved out contacts with Chinese leaders as he pushed for trade links for his western state.

Those contacts would be highly useful if he is confirmed as commerce secretary given the vital, and often contentious trading relationship between China and the United States.

Dear Lord,

I pray that Mr Locke has paid all of his taxes. I pray that he has never attended a Chinese Communist meeting, I pray that he has never been in the same room as a burning American Flag and a camera.

In short, I pray that President Obama’s team has vetted this man so well, that they know who his first kiss was with. I pray they know every keystroke he has ever made on a computer.

I pray these things in Jesus’ Name.

Amen

Rob Portman, “A Bush Guy”

Posted in Politics on February 23, 2009 by Otto

Republican Senate candidate two-time George W. Bush appointee Rob Portman will no doubt spend the entirety of his Senate campaign running away from George W. Bush and his record. However, that will be awfully difficult given that Portman served as George W. Bush’s Trade Representative (May 17, 2005 – May 29, 2006) and Office of Management and Budget Director (May 29, 2006 – June 19, 2007), two key roles on George W. Bush’s economic team. Nevertheless, Portman is trying to run from Bush and has been called out for it. I thought an early examination of Portman’s relationship to George W. Bush might be in order.

Bristol Palin on Abstinence

Posted in Interviews, News, Politics on February 23, 2009 by Otto

289_cartoon_palin_pregnant_largeIn her interview with Greta van Susteren on Monday, teen mother Bristol Palin called abstinence teaching “not realistic at all.” A study published in the January issue of Pediatrics supports that conclusion, finding that kids who made “virginity pledges” not only had sex at the same rates as nonpledgers, but were also less likely to practice safe sex.

Ben Smith at Politico cited the hard line Sarah Palin took on the issue based on her response on a question in 2006 from the conservative Eagle Forum Alaska:

Q: Will you support funding for abstinence-until-marriage education instead of for explicit sex-education programs, school-based clinics, and the distribution of contraceptives in schools?

SP: Yes, the explicit sex-ed programs will not find my support.

When the research says otherwise, when your personal life experience shows otherwise, is that enough to rethink your position on sex ed?

I guess this gives credence to the old joke:

What is the difference between Sarah Palin’s Mouth, and Sarah Palin’s Vagina?

Only one retarded thing came out of Sarah Palin’s vagina.

Sarah Palin’s Tax Problems.

Posted in News, Politics with tags , , on February 22, 2009 by Otto

I cant find anything about paying taxes on per diem in any of the books in my library.

I cant find anything about paying taxes on per diem in any of the books in my library.

The conformation of Obama’s cabinet has caused many respected elected officials to be dragged through the mud for not fully paying their taxes.

But what about lovely Sarah. The girl that makes Rush Limbaugh hard, and brain dead conservatives swoon. Why is she held to a completely different standard. Why hasn’t Fox News had any Breaing News Alerts about this story?

The only fathomable reason would be the fact that she “can see Russia from her house” Exposing Palin could send her to team up with the Russians, and start a new Cold War, the likes of which we have never seen.

From the Washington Post:

In September, after The Washington Post reported that the GOP vice presidential candidate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, had when she was staying in her own home, her office issued statements claiming that the practice was fine. “The governor is entitled to a per diem, and she claims it,” gubernatorial spokeswoman Sharon Leighow said at the time.

Palin billed the state for 312 nights spent in her Wasilla home during her first 19 months in office, according to The Post’s review of expense reports between late 2006 and August 2008. Though the story caused a bit of a sensation at the time, The Post could find no record that Palin had ever been asked about the per diem, which officials justified by saying that Juneau was her “duty station” and any time spent in Wasilla meant she was allowed the state alottment of $60 a day for meals and sundries.

After the election, Palin appeared on the Greta Van Susteren show on Fox News and defended the practice: “We’ve always followed the law and fully disclosed all that.”

What Palin did not say was that she had enough doubt about charging per diem to stay in her own home that she asked the state to conduct a review to determine if the practice was correct and allowable.

This week, a state official said the review found that the practice amounted to adding income to her $125,000 salary and that she would have to treat the payments as taxable. (If the practice had been correct, the payments would not be taxable as an allowable business expense.)

Wall Street wasn’t the only one using off budget spending, Bush and GOP Congress hid $2.7 trillion deficit.

Bush: I make it rain!

Bush: "I make it rain!"

The federal budget for fiscal year 2010 is due next week. The Obama Administration announced today the president has banned the use of four accounting tricks widely used during the Bush Administration to hide the size of deficit projections.

But prepare yourself – revealing the true deficit might stop your heart.

The four tricks include

- Removing the revenue from the Alternative Minimum Tax reform. Despite the yearly and almost certain Congressionally authorized “patch” to the AMT, the White House would always presume the AMT would not be corrected for that fiscal year, overstating revenue.

- Excluding the cost of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

- Not counting as spending the Medicare reimbursements to physicians

- Failing to include expenditures related to disaster response and relief. The Obama Administration estimates those changes will result in budgets that are $2.7T deeper in the red over the next ten years. “The president prefers to tell the truth,” (Office of Management and Budget director Peter Orszag) said, “rather than make the numbers look better by pretending.”
