In this clip from the BBC’s Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, Christopher Walken performs Lady GaGa’s song Poker Face. Don’t ask me why this is so funny – it just is.

Palin: “Those who would sell their body for money reflect a desperate need for attention”

Miss Irony

PWIRE: Sarah Palin responds to allegations made this morning by Levi Johnston, the father of her grandson.

“We have purposefully ignored the mean spirited, malicious and untrue attacks on our family. We, like many, are appalled at the inflammatory statements being made or implied. Trig is our ‘blessed little angel’ who knows it and is lovingly called that every day of his life. Even the thought that anyone would refer to Trig by any disparaging name is sickening and sad. CBS should be ashamed for continually providing a forum to propagate lies. Consider the source of the most recent attention-getting lies…

those who would sell their body for money reflect a desperate need for attention and are likely to say and do anything for even more attention.”

Hey Sarah, remember this?

AP — Nicolas Cage’s father, literature professor August Coppola, has died. He was 75.

Coppola is the brother of filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola, and he taught literature and served as dean of creative arts at San Francisco State University.

Cage spokeswoman Annett Wolf said August Coppola died Tuesday after a heart attack.

Besides Cage, Coppola is survived by sons Christopher and Marc and six grandchildren.

No comment yet from Nic Cage nor his hair.

AP: WANTAGE, N.J. – Police in New Jersey are trying to determine who fired a bullet that struck CNN commentator Lou Dobbs’ home as his wife stood nearby. State police Sgt. Stephen Jones says Dobbs’ wife and driver were outside the home Oct. 5 when they heard the gunshot. Jones says the bullet didn’t penetrate the siding and fell to the ground outside.

Dobbs mentioned the bullet earlier this week on CNN and his radio show.

Dobbs says he had been receiving threatening phone calls for weeks. On his radio show, he connected the gunshot to his advocacy for a crackdown on illegal immigration and to his opponents’ rhetoric.

The home is on a farm in Wantage, about 50 miles northwest of New York City.

It is small-game hunting season, but no hunters were seen in the area.

I have a feeling he will blame it on illegal immigrants.

HUFFPOST: On Wednesday afternoon, Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) shed tears on the House floor during a speech on the need for health insurance reform. Reading letters from people who have lost their loved ones because they did not have health coverage, the emotional Congressman paid tribute to victims who he said “aren’t often heard from.”

“There are 44,789, who die every year from lack of health insurance,” Grayson said. “In the course of my speech tonight, there will be five more.”

The moving stories narrated by Grayson came from his website namesofthedead.com. Unveiled on the House floor last week, the congressman’s initiative aims to shine light on the innocent victims of the U.S. health care system. “I hope that honoring them will help us end this senseless loss of American lives,” Grayson wrote.

Glenn Beck should take notes on what actual compasion looks like, so he can attempt to emulate it.

Glenn Beck thinks Government will make you stop eating meat. Seriously.

They're coming to take me away ha-ha!

Beck somehow thinks he’ll somehow be personally forced to stop eating meat. He then becomes horrified about the “indoctrination” of school children in Baltimore, which has instituted a Meatless Monday lunch program. The “controversy” of serving vegetarian food in schools has also been described by Lou Dobbs as a “political storm in the making”.
