Erik Gates, a regular on the Discovery Channel’s series Mythbusters, died today. He was 47 years old.
Gates was working at a site with his brother Dirk when he fell 30 feet through a skylight and onto the ground. He died as a result of his injuries.

28-year-old James Owen Sullivan aka “The Rev”, drummer from the metal band Avenged Sevenfold, was found dead in his Huntington Beach home. The cause of his death is currently under investigation.

Kidnapped on Monday, today the body of Colombia’s Caqueta state, Governor Luis Francisco Cuellar found dead today. Colombia’s President Alvaro Uribe announced on national television to that Cuellar’s throat had been slit.
Officials believe that Colombian FARC Guerrillas are responsible for Cuellar’s abduction and murder.

Actress Brittany Murphy died this morning from a heart attack at the age of 32.
She was best known for her roles in movies such as Girl, Interrupted, Clueless, and 8 Mile. But it seems like her role that was closest to real-life was her portrayal of a flakey speed-freak in the 2002 movie Spun.

Actor, Director, and Science-Fiction screenwriter Dan O’Bannon passed away due to complications from Crohn’s Disease. He was 63-years-old.
O’Bannon was known for his work on movies such as Alien, Blue Thunder, Total Recall, Return of the Living Dead, and one of my absolute favorite movies, Dark Star.

26-year-old Chris Henry, receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, has died. He was injured when he fell out of the back of a pick-up truck being driven by his fiancee Loleini Tonga after a domestic dispute at the couple’s residence. Henry passed away in the hospital one day later.
