Free Online Documentary Films

When you get a chance, check out topdocumentaryfilms.com. I’m a documentary addict, and this site has hundreds of commercial-free films to choose from.

My favorite so far… Outlaw Comic: The Censoring of Bill Hicks. It’s completely worth sitting through Janeane Garofalo’s pretentious babbling to hear Hicks call Rush Limbaugh a “scat-muncher.” Even Al Franken didn’t have the cojones to do that.

Al Franken Rules. Joe Lieberman Drools.

Check out this clip where Senator Al Franken cuts short a winded diatribe by Connecticut’s butt-hurt senator, Joe Lieberman.

P.S. This isn’t really news – I just hate Joe Lieberman.

Al Franken Schools Angry Mob of Tea Party Clowns

al-franken

This is beautiful… when confronted by a mob of ill-informed protesters, Al Franken took the time to teach them what they could have learned from a little common sense and research.

I loved the woman in front who looks about 2 minutes away from death. She has no idea why she’s there.

This is Al Franken’s first week on the job, so he didn’t have time to prepare actual questions for Sonia Sotomayor. Instead he talked about Perry Mason, and how that show made Sotomayor want to be a prosecutor.

Franken was officially declared the winner of Minnesota’s longest-ever recount yesterday following a ruling by the State Supreme Court.

Franken’s rival, Republican Norm Coleman, conceded the race a few hours after the court ruling.

I have been covering this story on the blog and on the show. This is a great victory and proves that our election process is slightly better than Iran’s.

Pawlenty won’t delay if court rules for Franken

Governor Tim Pawlenty (R-Minn.) said Sunday he has no plans for further delay in certifying the results of the state’s disputed U.S. Senate election so that Republican Norm Coleman can pursue a federal court challenge.

Pawlenty told CNN that he would abide by whatever ruling the Minnesota Supreme Court makes in the contest, where Democrat Al Franken appears to have an upper hand.

“I’m prepared to sign [the certification] as soon as they give the green light,” Pawlenty said. “I’m not going to defy an order of the Minnesota Supreme Court. That would be a dereliction of my duty.”

Pawlenty said he had no plans to slow up the process to allow federal litigation to play out, but would abide by any federal court stay Coleman might obtain. “If that doesn’t happen promptly or it drags out for any period of time, then we need to move ahead,” Pawlenty said.
