Bob Guccione, Founder of Penthouse Magazine, has Died

Bob Guccione, the man who founded the X-rated print magazine “Penthouse” has died after battling lung cancer. He was 79 years old.

While this saddens me, I only wrote for Penthouse once because they wanted Hollywood stars. Hustler is my #1 because they have the renegade, anti-republican theme going on. Plus they buy my interviews, so obviously they are the coolest X-rated zine still around. And I worship Larry Flynt. If Flynt were to die before me, I would be in mourning for months. Guccione, not so much. Sorry Bob.

Last week, Fox News host Glenn Beck called President Obama a “racist” with a “a deep-seated hatred for white people.”
Three companies who run ads during Glenn Beck — NexisLexis-owned Lawyers.com, Procter & Gamble and Progressive Insurance — today distanced themselves from Beck. LexisNexis has pulled its advertising from Beck and says it has no plans to advertise on the program in the future. Both Procter & Gamble and Progressive Insurance called the Beck advertising placements an error that they would correct.

Robert McNamara Dies at Age 93

Kennedy family confidant and former U.S. Defense Secretary Robert McNamara died in his sleep today at the age of 93.

“His age just caught up with him,” his wife Diana, told Reuters. “He was not ill. He died peacefully in his sleep.”

McNamara served as a key architect of the U.S. war in Vietnam — sometimes called “McNamara’s War” — which left 58,000 Americans dead. He served under presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson, and also advised JFK during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962, when the United States and the Soviet Union were on the brink of nuclear war. McNamara also became the first outsider to become president of the family-run Ford Motor company, served as president of the World Bank, and was a nuclear arms expert. As defense secretary, he boosted the Pentagon’s nuclear arsenal and streamlined the agency.

Faux News: Rove Calls Biden ‘Liar’

Republican strategist Karl Rove called Vice President Biden a “liar” on Thursday, dramatically escalating a feud between Biden and aides to former President George W. Bush over Biden’s claims to have rebuked Bush in private meetings.

“I hate to say this, but he’s a serial exaggerator,” Rove told FOX News. “If I was being unkind I would say liar. But it is a habit he ought to drop.”

Rove added: “You should not exaggerate and lie like this when you are the Vice President of the United States.”
