Twitter Experienced a DoS Attack and Facebook is Just Damn Slow Today

This morning I wanted to see what Twitter princesses Heidi Montag  and Tila Tequila had planned for the day (last week Heidi bought some absolutely HIDEOUS new shoes), and when I tried to log on to my account, I got one of those annoying page time-out errors. So then I decided to roll on over to my facebook page to check my stalker application to see if I snagged any tards, but the app didn’t return any results… “An error occurred and has been logged. Please refresh and try again.”.

Now we know why:

A hacker attack Thursday shut down the fast-growing messaging service Twitter, and Facebook also said it was looking into possible site problems.

Twitter said in its status blog Thursday that it was “defending against a denial-of-service attack,” in which hackers command scores of computers to a single site at the same time, preventing legitimate traffic from getting through.
